Are you looking for a memorable volunteer opportunity?  Look no further than OCA and make a difference in the life of a child or adult who has special needs.  No matter your availability, OCA offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunity for middle school, high school, college students, adults and businesses.


Volunteers (Age 18 & Over) & CIT -Counselors-in-Training (Age 8-18)

- Socially interact with participants: Always remembers, "Participant first, then staff, then myself."

- Work with all staff- Never leave assigned area without permission

- Teach new games and activities with participants

- Make a difference in a participant's life


Volunteer/CIT Opportunities:

Monday-Friday Afternoons:        
After School/Care Program (runs during school year) working with children and adults ages 8 and older

Monday- Friday Mornings:         
Early Intervention Program
(runs year round) working with children ages 18months-7 years
AVT Main or West Campus
(runs year round) working with adults ages 22 and older

Social Skills Events 
working with children and adults ages 8 and older
Adult Participant Summer Series- Sat, June 18th Painting & Dinner Out 1p-5p
Adult Participant Summer Series- Sat, July 23rd Dinner & Planetarium
Adult Participant Summer Series- Fri, Aug 12th De Leon Springs Day Trip

Monday-Friday Holidays:            
School Break Camps run
(runs during school year) 8:30a-3:30p- working with children ages 8-21

Tuesday-Thursday Afternoons: 
Special Olympics Training Practice (runs during school year) working with
working with children and adults ages 8 and older.  In addition to registering with OCA (yellow button above), you also need to:
1. Complete the Class A Special Olympics Registration form: and email back to
2. Take the Special Olympics Protective Behaviors Training free online course:

Monday-Friday Summer: (Closed for 2016 Summer Camp)
Summer Day Camp (runs during summer) Mon-Fri 8:30a-3:30p working with children ages 4-21.  Every Friday is a field trip.  Camp T-shirt fee is $10 per CIT/Volunteer.

Any Hours of Your Choice:
Fundraising Committee (runs year round) working to plan for annual fundraisers and/or collect donations

Special Events:
You can opt to volunteer in 2-4 hour shifts (set up, event, tear down, etc.), depending on your availability
Annually in May: 'Last Day of Freedom' Fundraiser at Winter Park Farmer's Market
Annually in Oct:  OCA Bowl-a-thon at Aloma Bowl in Winter Park
